Use Create from Claude with MCP
You are already talking to an AI assistant to write, plan and think. It would be useful if the same conversation could also make the picture or the clip you just described. With the Create MCP server, it can.
MCP, the Model Context Protocol, is an open way for AI assistants to use outside tools. Once Create is added as a connector, your assistant calls Create's tools the same way it calls any other tool. You ask in plain words, and the assistant makes the image or video with your Create credits and hands you the link.
What your assistant can do
Five tools show up in your assistant. You do not call them yourself. You just ask.
- create_image makes a picture from a prompt and returns a link. It spends credits.
- create_video starts a video from a prompt, optionally from a starting picture, and returns an id. It spends credits.
- get_generation looks up one picture or video by id and reports whether it is pending, complete or failed. It costs no credits.
- list_my_generations lists the 20 most recent things made on your account, newest first. It costs no credits.
- get_credits shows your credits and the key's daily limit. It costs no credits.
A video usually takes one to three minutes. The assistant starts it, then checks with get_generation until it is complete, and then gives you the link.
Before you start
You need a paid plan, because the MCP server works with paid plans only. The credits your assistant spends are your account's credits, at the same price as in the app, with no separate balance and no extra API fee. You also need an API key, which starts with crk_live_ and is shown once when you make it, so copy it somewhere safe.
How to connect Claude Code
- Make a key. Sign in at create.vin and open the API keys page. Name the key, and set a daily credit cap. Pick a low one while you are testing.
- Add the server. In a terminal, run the command below with your key in place of the placeholder.
- Check it works. Ask Claude to check your Create credits. It should answer with your balance.
- Ask for something. Try "Make a 16:9 image of a lighthouse at dusk with a soft film look" and wait for the link.
- Try a video. Ask for "waves rolling onto a beach, five seconds". The assistant starts it and checks until it is ready.

Claude Desktop needs a small helper so the key can travel as a header.
- Make a key as above.
- Open the config. In Claude Desktop go to Settings, then Developer, then Edit Config.
- Add Create under mcpServers, using the command
npxwith the arguments-y,mcp-remote,https://create.vin/api/mcp,--headerand the textAuthorization: Bearerfollowed by your key. - Restart Claude and ask it to check your Create credits.
Other apps such as Cursor, Windsurf and VS Code take the same three things: the address, an Authorization header, and your key after the word Bearer. There is also a step by step page with a button that tests your key: the MCP setup guide.
The safety nets
An assistant that can spend credits should have limits it cannot pass. These are on Create's side, not left to the assistant.
- A daily cap on every key. It starts at 500 credits and can be set up to 5,000 when you make the key. It resets at 00:00 UTC, and a call that would pass it is refused.
- 200 credits at most per call. One MCP call never costs more than this.
- 30 requests per minute per key. Lookups count too. Past the limit, the server tells the assistant to wait.
- Up to 5 active keys per account. Revoke a key at any time, for example when you stop using an app.
Each tool describes its price, so the assistant can tell you the cost first. The real protection is the cap you set, so keep it low until you trust your setup.
Good to know
Links to finished pictures and videos work for about an hour, so save the file if you want to keep it. Anything you make stays on your account, and list_my_generations shows it again with fresh links. A key works for both the REST API and the MCP server, and they share the same daily cap and rate limit. The server accepts POST requests only and does not allow calls from other websites, so use it from a desktop app, a terminal or a server, not from a web page.
Ideas to try
Ask your assistant to draft a blog post and then make a header image for it. Ask for three aspect ratios of the same scene for different social formats. Ask what you made last week and have it list your recent generations. Or have it write a prompt, check your credits, and only then run the video.
Try it
Make your key, then read the full guide on the Create MCP page. Developers who prefer plain HTTP can use the same key with the developer tools. Plans and credits are on the pricing page.
Make an API keyFAQ
Will my assistant spend credits without asking?
Only create_image and create_video spend credits. Each tool describes its price so the assistant can tell you first, but the safety nets are on Create's side: one call never costs more than 200 credits, and the key's daily cap always applies.
Which apps work?
Any app that can talk to an MCP server over HTTP and send an Authorization header with your key. Claude Code, Claude Desktop through the mcp-remote helper, Cursor, Windsurf and VS Code are the usual ones. An app that only offers a sign-in window and cannot send a header will not work yet.
Who can use it?
Anyone on a paid plan. On an account that is not on a paid plan, the server answers with a plan_required error.
